Tara Johnson, founder and owner of North Bay Bookkeeping Services, is a relationship-oriented professional who loves helping businesses manage their bookkeeping in ways that reduce their stress, enhance their clarity, and free them up to run their business more effectively.
Tara serves businesses of all kinds, but particularly enjoys using her skills and talents to help contractors. Tara’s clients experience a personal relationship, education on ways to streamline their processes for greater efficiency, and encouragement along the way.
Tara established her business in 2006 in San Francisco, CA; she now lives in the Austin, TX area. Tara works with local businesses, and she remotely supports clients throughout the country.

Working with Blaine
Blaine brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in construction project management to my work at North Bay Bookkeeping Services. He has worked with companies of all sizes — from large general contractors to small specialty trades — but today, he intentionally focuses on serving small residential builders.
If you’re a custom home builder or remodeler wearing all the hats, he understands exactly what that feels like. Blaine’s goal is to step in as your part-time virtual project management support, giving you structure, clarity, and consistency without the overhead of a full-time hire.
It’s just Blaine working alongside you — we don’t outsource. His rate reflects that, and so does the level of personal attention you receive.
